Above the ground is a Military Operations Area (MOA). During the week, you'll see fighter jets training here. They come from Fresno, Navy Lemoore, Edwards AFB, Nellis AFB, Navy China Lake, Navy Fallon, Fort Irwin, Palmdale AF Plant 42, aircraft carriers, and Mojave, just to name a few.
