With the FAA charging exorbitant fees for temporary ATC towers, UNICOM has become a cost effective alternative. With my FAA ATC experience and as the UNICOM Commander ("Unicommander") at Black Rock City (Burning Man), I've established myself as a competant alternative to a temporary control tower.
